THIS CANE WENT TO SGT. GEORGE HARRISON, CARVED BY RICHARD HARTMAN
Mr Gibson,
I would like to extend my gratitude for the wonderful cane that you and Mr Hartman did for me.I would also like to say that I know that every soldier that recieved a cane so far is very grateful for the efforts of your agency.I am so humbled by the people who care and go out of there way to help Veterans today.I know that it was not this easy for the Veterans who came back from Vietnam, and to me that is shameful.I am from Jackson County KY,and I have many retired military in my family.I know first hand,or I guess second hand you could say of how it felt not to be appreciated after the hell you went thru. The amount of terror expeirienced in your day during war was a thousand times more than what we go thru in todays army. What im trying to say is that even though the focus seems to be on the soldiers returning from todays battlefield, your efforts have not been forgotten and by no means belittled by me and my family. If there is anyone who deserves Americas praise more than todays veterans,it is the veterans of yesterday.
Once again,Thank you very much for the cane.Although im not able to use it just yet,I assure you, when I start my physical therapy your cane will play a major role in my rehabilitation process.
