Robbie "HOBO" Gibson

In 1991 I was walking around the Lexington Bar-B-Q festival, as I passed by Arts United I saw that the DCWA was having a woodcarving show. So I went inside, and I just fall in love with what I saw. I could not believe that someone had made all of this out of wood. I had to try to do some woodcarving. So for one year I did try on my own, but with not much luck. When the show came back the next year, so did I. I went into the show 3 times that day, the last time I got to meet one of the carvers and he told me all about the DCWA. So the next time they had a meeting I was there. I had found a new home. In 1993 I was in my first show and got my first blue ribbon.I am still there and will be till they run me off. Have to go now, have wood chips to make.
