I moved to Lexington N.C. in 1986. It wasn't until 2001 that the carving bug bit me. I started out making walking canes from dogwood trees. One day while working on a cane I noticed that the root, which is the handle of the cane looked like a goose head so I decided to finish what nature had started. From that point on I knew that woodcarving is what I wanted to do. Decorative duck decoys, Birds of Prey, and caricatures are my favorite subjects to carve. I like to design my own patterns and develop my own style of carving. I strongly encourage anyone to give carving a try. Creating a piece of art from a block of wood is a rewarding feeling.
