Charles Myers

Charles has been woodcarving for 25 years, getting his start from Billy Joe Athay, who in 1982 was his future father-in-law. Seems that the way to pass time at the beach with his (now) wife’s family is to whittle.. and from helping his dad on a pig farm , his first carving was a sow. Soon , he became involved with the Davidson County Woodcarvers and learned from the others in the club , as well . He has carved commission pieces for notable artists Bob Timberlake, Lynn Holland and Warren Kimble. He continues to produce original carvings for the furniture and accessory industry . His studio is located in Linwood, North Carolina, on the land adjacent to the farm where he grew up . He is an active member in the Davidson County Woodcarvers, having served as vice-president in the past and is currently serving as President . His wife, Marcia is secretary of the club.
